Segments B, C, and E of the Thornton Water Project (TWP) are located within the boundaries of Weld County.
Segment B includes 16 miles of pipeline with an expected completion in the beginning of the third quarter of 2026. All mainline pipe has been installed and passed testing. Reclamation is ongoing in areas between Weld County Road 2 and Hwy 66.
Segment C includes 14.9 miles of pipeline and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027. Pipeline construction is active with multiple crews working along the north and south sections of the alignment. Boring crews are working on trenchless crossings throughout the alignment. Nine of the twelve trenchless crossings have been completed. 9.3 miles of pipe have been installed to date.
Segment E includes 10.5 miles of pipeline and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2027. Pipeline construction is currently active along the WCR 13/County Line Road corridor near WCR 68 ½. Three of four open cut irrigation ditch crossings were completed prior to the irrigation season. The first of six trenchless crossings is underway near WCR 13 and WCR 68 ½. 1.0 miles of pipe have been installed to date.
