Segments B, C, and E of the Thornton Water Project (TWP) are located within the boundaries of Weld County.
Segment B includes 16 miles of pipeline with an expected completion in the second quarter of 2026. Active construction is ongoing in areas between Weld County Road 2 and Hwy 66. All pipe has been installed and reclamation is ongoing.
Segment C includes 14.9 miles of pipeline and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027. Pipeline construction is active with multiple crews progressing along the alignment south of Weld County Road 44. Boring crews are working on trenchless crossings throughout the alignment. 5.8 miles of pipe have been installed to date. Seven of the twelve trenchless crossings have been completed.
Segment E includes 10.5 miles of pipeline and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2027. Pipeline construction is currently active along the WCR 13/County Line Road corridor near WCR 68 ½. Casing pipe was recently installed using open trench methods under three of four irrigation ditch crossings. The first of six trenchless crossings will begin near WCR 13 and WCR 68 ½ later this month.
