Segments B, C, and E of the Thornton Water Project (TWP) are located within the boundaries of Weld County.
Segment B includes 16 miles of pipeline with an expected completion in the second quarter of 2026. Active construction is ongoing in areas between Weld County Road 2 and Hwy 66. 15.5 miles of pipe have been installed to date.
Segment C includes 14.8 miles of pipeline and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027. Pipeline construction is active with multiple crews progressing along the alignment south of State Highway 34. Boring crews are working on trenchless crossings throughout the alignment. 4.33 miles of pipe have been installed to date. Six of the thirteen trenchless crossings have been completed.
Construction will commence in early 2026 focused on the four irrigation ditch crossings along the alignment. Pipeline installation will then generally progress from south to north along the WCR 13/County Line Road corridor between WCR 68 ½ and Weld County Road 88. Construction of Segment E is schedule to be complete in the second quarter of 2027.
