Drought Monitor & Snowpack Update
As of March 27, the South Platte Basin snowpack (Thornton’s main water supply source) is at 126 percent of normal. Please click on the image below to see the snowpack map.
Below is the Colorado Drought Monitor map from March 19, 2019. The Clear Creek and South Platte River headwaters are now drought free or Abnormally Dry (D0). The recent winter storm brought much needed moisture to Thornton and the Front Range. Drought is improving across Colorado.
